The Artistry of the Soul retreat is an invitation to deepen your yoga practice, to experience the crystal clarity of body wisdom, to experience the ease and bliss of embodiment...

I often reflect that everything we need is contained within the wisdom of our bodies. Nothing else is required - only that we be present. And from that place of presence, so much can be explored and experienced, so much healing and creativity can take place.

Creating space for our bodies to move with freedom and awareness can be incredibly transformative and uplifting. Old patterns can be shifted, new ways of being and seeing can be experienced.

Yoga provides us with a wonderful variety of asanas (postures) and pranayama exercises (breathing exercises) that bring release, health, clarity, strength, vitality and renewal.

We tune into our body wisdom by being present to each posture and its healing and aligning properties. We deepen our connection to the Bandhas (internal locks that develop strength and stability). We deepen our connection to the breath.

We explore the art of stillness, deep rest and rejuvenation. We experience the bliss of yoga... I teach intuitively so each class is uniquely shaped to suit our needs.

I have had the privilege of teaching many retreats in Ubud. From my experience, Ubud provides the perfect setting for the Artistry of the Soul retreats.

Ubud is Bali’s artistic and healing centre. The word Ubud means medicine. Ubud supports beautifully the magical transformation that takes place when we come together to deepen our yoga practise and share our creativity.

Each morning begins with a yoga class in the Wantilan that is both dynamic and restorative.

After morning yoga we have a delicious healthy breakfast together...

After breakfast the daily writing session takes place in the Wantilan with Jane Cornes...

After writing there is free time for massages, treatments, healthy lunch, rest, walking etc...

In the afternoon we return to the Wantilan for our second yoga session where we deepen our practise... we also explore gentle voice work with mantras, sound healing and other nourishing movement practises…

In the evenings we return to the Wantilan for a meditation session accompanied by the blissful orchestra or the natural world around us...

Artistry of the Soul is an invitation to your soul's blossoming...

These retreats suit all levels of experience.

For the May and September retreats in 2016 we will also be joined by guest teacher Annie O’Moon who will be offering an evening of Ecstatic Dance for those who would like to participate.

Artistry of the Soul will be taking place in the beautiful setting of Ubud, Bali at Melati Cottages, in the tranquil village of Penastanan.

Jane Cornes

About Jane

Jane’s primary focus – and joy – is helping others realise their full potential as writers.

Jane is a creative writing teacher, musician, award-winning features writer, editor and songwriter. She has written dozens of songs, released four CDs and she knows only too well the feeling of frustration when inspiration won't come.

In a past life, Jane was the WA State editor for Gourmet Traveller magazine, Food and Wine Editor for Scoop magazine and the restaurant critic for Post Newspapers. She was also the inaugural programme director for the Mundaring Truffle Festival.

In 2013, a run-in with breast cancer put Jane off her stride for a bit. When she got to the other side of a double mastectomy, she found she'd lost her passion for food writing. Instead, she wanted a more sincere, heartfelt way to help others develop and gain confidence in their creativity.

For over a decade, she has been half of the well-known local musical duo Doris. Today she also performs with The Jane Cornes Trio and, with her life partner Neil Steward, in the duo Jane & Neil. She's also the artistic director of the Nanga Music Festival.
